How To Insert a Braided Wire Into A TMJ Appliance

A. Shape braided wire into lingual area and extend to 2nd pre-molar on both sides.  Do not cut braided 

wire at this point.  Allow for additional right angle bend of 1/4 inch on both ends.  The wire will extend 

past the lingual waxup and be retained when pouring the top portion of the flask.

C. Invested case boiled out showing braided wire exposed and held in position.  Tack center of braided wire with 

Rapid Set Clear (quick cure) to prevent displacement during injection process.
